Chinese Ministry Pastor/Minister
Description
The Chinese Ministry Pastor/Minister is entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing all ministry groups. They are to provide leadership to the Ministry Committee and church Deacons, guiding Grace Church in fulfilling the five core functions of the church: Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Evangelism, and Ministry.
In collaboration with other pastoral leaders, the Executive Board, and all church co-workers, they will cast a vision, set the direction, and plan various ministries and programs to enable the church members to grow to the fullness of Christ and to live out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
Responsibilities
- Preaching: As the primary preacher for the Chinese Worship service, the Chinese Ministry Pastor/Minister is to diligently study God’s word and to devote themselves to prayer. They are to preach God’s word, to admonish, challenge, and nurture the congregation’s spiritual growth and development.
- Teaching: The Chinese Ministry Pastor/Minister is to teach Adult Sunday school and to lead Bible study in the fellowship and prayer meeting. They are to engage in leadership training to equip church members to be church leaders.
- Caring: The Chinese Ministry Pastor/Minister is to provide appropriate pastoral care to the Chinese congregation; overseeing visitations, counseling, and follow up on newcomers.
- Mission: The Chinese Ministry Pastor/Minister is to preach regularly in evangelistic meetings and programs. They are to lead short term mission trips. They are to lead church members to attend mission conferences so that Grace church is aware of global mission conditions.
- Leadership: The Chinese Ministry Pastor/Minister is the first contact person for the church Chinese ministry. They are to plan programs by providing guidance (will call/contact appropriate individuals).
- Administration: The Chinese Ministry Pastor/Minister is to perform long-range planning for Chinese ministries. They are to procure, maintain, and distribute materials and equipment related to this ministry. They are to prepare and oversee the ministries’ budget items.
- Attend church pastoral staff meetings and to be one of the representatives for Grace Church in OCMA and its functions.
